Flowering everlasting pea vine
Latin name: Lathyrus latifolius
Common names: everlasting peavine, perennial peavine, perennial pea
Description: Despite its lack of scent, this perennial relative of the sweet pea is popular for the masses of pink and light purple flowers which it produces from summer to early autumn.
Like clover, this perennial sweet pea helps fix nitrogen in the soil, improving very poor soil if planted temporarily. Plants do not like to be dug up & transplanted, but they grow well & swiftly from seeds. They are found most often in dry brightly sunlit locations.
This vine will climb to 5 or 6 feet each year, and can also be allowed to sprawl, or to tumble down an embankment
